Extension of the fine extension knob has also stopped working in certain cases. Some customers were dissatisfied because the company does not provide any warranty with the product.

The Ridgid R2930 combo kit was a 2-1/4 HP, 12 amp retour, but it is no longer available. Ridgid’s replacement model, R29302, is a 2 HP, 11 amp retour (same price). Although the Ridgid website still list both model, they have confirmed that the R2930 is no longer available (see below). I don’t know if there are any other differences. There is a mistake in the Amazon discription of the product, and I’ve notice this same mistake on other websites and in Home Depot store. The older model, R2930, got a lot of good reviews, but if this difference in power is important to you, then you might want to consider other high rated, comparably priced brands, which truly are 2-1/4 HP, 12 amp retours (Porter-cable, Bosch, etc.). I’m not really rating this product since I opted for another brand, but since the older model got good reviews, I’m assuming the newer model, although less powerful, still performs well. 10/30/09 16:48: Unknown The R29302 is the current retour available. The older unit R2930 is no longer available. Or they are advertising the R29302, but are saying that it is 12 amp, 2.25 HP. Does Ridgid still manufacture the R2930 combo set, or has it been replaced with the lower power R29302. If the R2930 is still available, where can I purchase one in the St. Louis MO area. Thank you.
You should note that Bosch has a redesigned switch to solve the sawdust issue and will ship you one free even if the product is out of warranty. BTW I’ve had excellent warranty service from Bosch so I do not know what the no warranty comments are about.
